QUILTING AND EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP
SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER 3:30PM
GOLD COIN DONATION
Amy Mills, 'Drug Companies Invent New Cures Everyday', 2019.

Join exhibiting artists Amy Mills and Mariaan Pugh for an afternoon of quilting and embroidery.

Entry is by $1 donation, all skill levels encouraged, all materials are provided (though you are welcome to BYO also).

Mariaan Pugh will be sharing embroidery skills and reflecting on the beaded embroideries in I Miss you Stephen, I Keep Watching Barbarella.

Amy Mills will be holding a quilting circle amongst her exhibition Can I pray for you, where participants are invited to come along to an open discussion around disability and mortality. Participants will also get the chance to learn how to create a Granny’s Garden Quilt using 100% recycled materials. Amy’s journey through quilting came from her love of textiles and a desire to explore a medium that has a rich history of storytelling. Having no formal training, Amy’s whimsical, bold, and unconventional quilts express her frustration at societies inability to accept people have terminal illnesses and live as successful members of the community.
