The most important function of art for me is the telling of a story. When I am able to draw on someone’s experience or engage an audience in important dialogue that’s when I feel most accomplished. I’m a freelance photographer and videographer doing a bit of anything and everything but I really enjoy opportunities when I can create just for the love of it. I enjoy dealing with abstract themes and finding ways to portray them visually in interesting ways. My work is informed by my African-Australian experience and I love that I can represent this community in my work.

Lossless
Lossless is a series of both photographic and filmic works that look at the constant editing and curation of ourselves -our best and worst parts- for society and what that does to our psyche. This series includes mostly portrait images that are edited in an abstract style with digital collage elements and some video that is used to support the themes in the images by setting the mood.
African music always manages to stay true to its essence no matter how far it travels and no matter what form it takes. This fluidity is something that I aspire to embody. A lossless file is one that is compressed in size but it still retains all it’s data. Music that is compressed into such a file still sounds every bit as layered and detailed as that of the original file. The Lossless series demonstrates the very human struggle to maintain a ‘lossless’ identity in a society that is designed to destructively compress it.
