We acknowledge that we stand, dance and love on the stolen and unceded Boodja (land) of the Whadjuk Noongar Bibbulmun people. We would like to take this opportunity to pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and to all the First Nations peoples. We acknowledge tens of thousands of years of stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together. We extend solidarity and hope for a future where all are afforded justice, dignity, and peace, reflecting on centuries of resistance in the face of colonisation. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
Project 54 is a multidisciplinary collective body of work that navigates the past, present and visions of the future of Afrikan music and it will also be paying tribute to Afrika as the birthplace of the many musical genres we hear today.
